About this program
California River Keepers is a citizen-volunteer program dedicated to the stewardship of California's rivers. Its current program area is the San Gabriel River watershed north of Azusa, where volunteers remove trash from riverbanks, day-use areas, and campgrounds, weigh and categorize every haul, and publish a complete activity and spending record online. The aim is a clean corridor that supports healthy water and fish, and a factual record that helps public agencies prioritize repairs and funding.
We welcome partnership with agencies, land managers, and community organizations to expand coverage. To coordinate, contact rivers@troutbook.org.
